Linda Marie Schmidt

It is with great sadness that the family of Linda Schmidt announces her passing on Monday, June 8, 2020 at the age of 77 years.

Linda battled multiple cancers, heart disease and strokes. She fought long and hard to the end and eventually lost her battle to cancer.

She is survived by her loving husband, Raymond of 56 years; sons: Jeff (Bev), Chris (Karen) and Brad (Christa); grandchildren: Matthew (Wendy), Ryan, Megan, Rebecca, Kaitlin, Sara, Alia, Keiera; great grandson, Wyatt; siblings: Joyce (Walter), Alf (Eileen), Elaine (Ray) and sister-in-law, Carol.

Linda was predeceased by her parents, Elizabeth and Joseph and brother, Wayne.

Due to COVID 19 restrictions a Private Family Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 75 Poirier Avenue, St. Albert, AB.

Due to COVID 19 restrictions, a Private Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2020. A live feed of the Funeral will be available from Connelly-McKinley Funeral Homes.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in Linda’s name to the Cross Cancer Institute, 11560-University Avenue, Edmonton, AB, T6G 1Z2.

    I will truly miss our friend who had the kindest heart and was one of the most fun people in our group of friends. Always ready to share a laugh and a story with others. We had many social times over the years and especially all our gatherings in Arizona. We played the game of Words With Friends online and she was a fantastic opponent beating me more often than not. Our ladies lunches and wine times will be treasured memories. Her strength in all her health challenges inspired and amazed me. Rest peacefully now Linda…..we will miss you!

    Dear Ray and family, we were neighbours in Delwood for years and we couldn’t have had better, and of course my husband and Ray curled together at one time too if my memory is correct. I am so sorry to hear that Linda had so many health problems and suffered through these situations with little complaint knowing Linda.
