Linda Ellen Nelson AKA Mickie Lynn
It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of Mickie Lynn.
Mickie was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1947 to John and Edna McMahon. She passed away in January 2020 at the University of Alberta Hospital.
Mickie was a very outgoing, rambunctious child, who contracted polio at the age of six years. Although she was disabled, she adapted quickly and embraced life to its fullest. Mickie was the most positive and loving person and to know her was to love her. Her beautiful, powerful voice and gift of music led her into a very successful career as a singer and musician.
She is survived by her husband, Roy; her three children, Laurelie, Ted and Allyson (Brad); her grandchildren, Michael, Jamie, Ayden, and Taelor; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn and Velma; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many others whom she adopted as her family or touched their lives.
Mickie was predeceased by her mother, Edna; father, John; brother, Randy (Karen McMahon); brother, Jim; sister, Valerie; mother in law, Alice; father in law, Ted; brother and sister in law, Leonard and Marion and brother in law, Keith.
