It is with deep sadness that the family of Larry McDannold announce his peaceful passing at the age of 83.
Beloved husband of Maureen, and much loved father to his sons, Brent McDannold and Gregory McDannold (Greg Pickering), and his daughter, Andrea (Frank Olson) McDannold-Olson. Grandfather to Christopher (Janine) McDannold, Cameron (Avery) McDannold, and Eve, Sophie and Erik Olson. Great-grandfather to Lily and Audie McDannold. Brother-in-law to Sandra McDannold and Lynne Skrapek, and uncle to five nieces and one nephew.
Larry was predeceased by both his parents, Bill and Evelyn McDannold as well as his only brother, Roy McDannold.
Larry was with the Bank of Montreal in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Ontario before relocating his family to Edmonton in 1978 where he became Vice President of the Bank of Montreal. He was a proud Edmontonian with an entrepreneurial spirit. He established McDannold Financial and was co-owner of Imperial Collision. He was also an active community booster and volunteer and served on numerous boards and committees.
Larry’s family was his greatest pride. He touched the lives of many with his warmth and kindness, his sense of humour and his generous spirit. He will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and in those privileged to have known him.
Larry was passionate about golf and was a proud member of the Royal Mayfair Golf Club where he spent countless hours with friends and family.
Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Exquisicare for providing Larry with exceptional care and for showing him the dignity and respect that he deserved in the final stage of his life.
A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., at the Royal Mayfair Golf Club, 9450 Groat Road, Edmonton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society, 306, 10430 – 61 Avenue, Edmonton Alberta T6H 2J3.
