Larry Micheal Juse

Juse Larry working

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Larry Juse at the age of 74 years.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Diana (nee Sampert); children, Jarrid (Janeen) Juse, Gina (Kevin) Hormann; six grandchildren, Kade, Emma, Nelia, Katie, Jayka, Mya; and his sister, Henriette (Wayne).

Larry was predeceased by his parents, Kay and Mike Juse.

Larry was raised in the Boyle area.  He graduated from Materials Engineering at NAIT.  He continued his education at the U of A where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Education.  Larry had a very rewarding 44 year career at NAIT.  Larry and Diana enjoyed travelling and travelled extensively with family and friends throughout their life together.  Larry also enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, snowmobiling, quading, and boating.  Larry was the guy with all the toys. He always had time for others, he was a natural encourager, and a friend to all. Larry’s family was his pride and joy.  He will be remembered and missed dearly.

Thank you to Dr. Wen and the Kidney Clinic team at the U of A Hospital; GP Dr. G.  Munsamy; Connie and Ally at St. Albert Homecare, the Caregivers Team and the countless family and friends that have been a huge support to our family during Larry’s illness.

In lieu of flowers donations in Larry’s memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation, 202-11227 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton, AB, T5K 0L8 or the Alzheimer’s Society, 306, 10430 – 61 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta, T6H 2J3.

Larry was my leader, friend and mentor at Nait for over thirty years. His encouragement and example helped me be a better instructor! I fondly remember many coffees in the “annex cafeteria” which included lots of laughter, a few tears and warm friendship. He was a friend to both my husband and me and we loved sharing stories about our kids and grandkids and our students and experiences in our classrooms. My sincere condolences to Diana and the family, you have lost a dear man!

I was sobered to learn of Larry’s recent passing. Larry and I were colleagues at NAIT and we had a common connection through Materials Engineering Technology and with the staff and students of that programme. I remember Larry as a person who brightened the room when he entered. He was people-focussed and considerate of others. I remember being able to enjoy jovial banter but, also, serious conversation together. While our life pathways diverged over the years, Larry is one of the many persons who made my years at NAIT among the best of my life. I know that Larry will be deeply missed. He was a part of all our stories! Diana, please accept my condolences to you and your family.

    Diane and Family,

So sorry to hear of Larry’s passing. Even though there were extended periods between conversations I remember him as a gentile man who would not miss a beat and chat like it was yesterday. A good memory that I will always have was picking pails full of blue berries with Larry at a family reunion.

    May he rest in peace.

I enjoyed watching the video of the funeral and photo slide show. It is so obvious that he was a very caring and loving family man with many friends. He conducted his relationships and career with an exceptionally high degree of integrity.
Larry helped make my time at NAIT more enjoyable by being my friend and driving me to and from classes.
In addition, I remember from his conversations with me about how much he loved you.
I did so enjoy visiting and reminiscing with you guys in Arizona…we all so enjoyed being in Arizona in the winter.
I want to offer my condolences to you and your family.
