David Lawrence Crawford (Larry) Judge passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at the age of 91. He will be remembered with much love by his three children, David (Colleen), Joan (Josh Fogel), and Chris–semicolon– four grandchildren, William, Katie, Antigone and Avital–semicolon– as well as extended family and friends. Larry was predeceased by his wife, Mary, and brother, Bob.
Larry graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Alberta in 1951 and became a specialist in Internal Medicine in 1956. He practiced at the Baker Clinic in Edmonton until he retired. During retirement, Larry was an avid swimmer, competing in the World Masters Games in 2005 in Edmonton, 2009 in Sydney, and 2013 in Torino, winning multiple gold and silver medals.
Larry was a world traveller, but Edmonton was his favorite place–semicolon– he never missed an opportunity to extol the city’s virtues.
Special thanks to Brian Sproule, Val Cload, Errol Raff, and the staff at the Norwood Rehabilitation Unit and Ward 52-University of Alberta Hospital.
A Celebration of Larry’s Life will take place on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 2:00pm at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 10011-114 Street, Edmonton.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made in memory of Larry to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, the M.S. Society of Canada-Alberta Division, the University of Alberta, or the charity of your choice.
