It is with profound sadness that we must announce the passing of our beautiful sister, nanny and auntie, Katie who passed away suddenly on August 6, 2020.
Katie was a kind and loving daughter, nanny and sister. Katie’s greatest joy in life was her two grandchildren and her two nephews out here in Alberta and spending time with them and her siblings.
Left to mourn her passing are her siblings, Karen, Jim, Kitt and Kelly (Todd); along with her nieces, Megan, Samantha and Annie; her nephews, Jared, Dylan, Sam and Leon; as well as her grandchildren, Clark and Alexsis; son-in-law, Andrew; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family and friends.
Katie is predeceased by her husband, Angelo Rodriguez; mother, Joyce Tourigny; stepfather, Rene Tourigny and father, Lorne Gleason.
A small family gathering will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. with interment to follow.

Your life it was a blessing, your memory is a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

I first met Katie when I got a job working for Childrens Services in downtown Edmonton. She was the Administrator for the section. She offered to show me the cafeteria downstairs. While we were eating I noticed that she was looking at me and I noticed that she was checking me out. I noticed and gave her a big smile and we were friends ever after. It was a blessing and a privilege to have gotten to know her as well as I did.
I will meet her on the other side because we made plans to go fishing. I will miss her long phone calls but I will see her soon. Love you always, Meridee
