I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Kathy quite a few years ago but sadly we lost touch after she left our firm. She was a wonderful person and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know her. We had so many fun times together and I only wish I could have one more glass of wine with her. Take care.
Larry says
Thank you Cheryl. You were a good friend to Kathy and she talked about you a lot after leaving there. Take care and thank you again.
Lenora Anderson says
Larry and family, I am so very sorry and shocked. I don’t know if you remember me, Larry, but I worked with Kathy for many years at McLennan Ross and the two of you came out to our cabin at Sandy Beach one year for a labour dept. party. Please accept my deepest sympathies for one taken too early.
Jon Rossall says
To the Breton family, please accept my condolences for the loss of your wife/mother/grandmother. Kathy worked for McLennan Ross as a paralegal in the litigation group for a number of years and I had the pleasure of working with her on a number of complicated files. She was easy-going, hard working and knowledgeable – a pleasure to work with. I am so sorry she was taken from you at this early age.

Kathy was a mentor and friend to me. I worked with her for a number of years at McLennan Ross and was shocked and very sad to hear of her passing. My condolences to Larry, Kevin, Jessie and Nick. I cannot imagine this unfathomable loss. She was a force to be reckoned with and will be missed by so many. My deepest sympathies to you all.
Katherine Toolen says
You are gone way too soon and far too young. I am shocked and saddened by your sudden departure Kathy. My condolences to you Larry, and to Jessie, Kevin and Nicholas (whom I have never met) though you had your Mum terribly worried over a fall you took whilst herself and Larry were in Ottawa for Meaghan’s wedding. It was a great joy to meet Kathy again and to be introduced to you Larry, whom we had heard so much about from our own Mum’s visit to Canada. Kathy left a lasting impression upon me with how mature, strong and capable she was, having met the younger Kathy when she was in Ireland and revisiting the older Kathy, she grew from strength to strength with her husband Larry at her side, together they reared and educated and bestowed all that is possible upon their children. She did a great job, well done Kathy. She was a woman of substance who will be desperately missed. Requiescat in Pace. Your cousin Kathy Toolen

Having worked with Kathy for many years, I enjoyed a window into the dedication, love and humour Kathy shared about and with her family. She was very proud and justifiably so. She was a caring person and that extended to the people she worked with so that we all benefitted from being around Kathy. I am so sorry for your loss.
David Carvalho says
Dear Kevin and Daniela, I am so heartbroken and saddened for your immeasurable and sudden loss. May you find peace and strength during this difficult time. Find comfort from each other and being together with family and friends. Please accept my deepest condolences and am here for anything you may need.

I’m so sorry, Breton family, on the loss of Kathy. We worked together in the past. She was an extremely hard worker who always had a helping hand for anyone who asked. Most of all though, I know she was a great Mom and wife – she talked about her family with such pride and love, and I am so very sad for all of you in hearing this news.
John Weir says
Kathy was a friend, and a co-worker at Mather Tax Law. Kathy always knew the buttons to push to make me laugh when I needed it the most. She was my work-mate at Mather Tax Law. She understood my worries and concerns, and never failed to gift me part of her day, even when her schedule seemed impossible to manage.
Her absolute and unconditional love for her husband and her children was inspiring. There was hardly ever a day when she would miss the opportunity to proudly talk of her family.
There will never be another Kathy Breton – not in my lifetime; not in anyone’s.
So long, Kathy.
Claudette Young says
My deepest condolences of the loss of you wife and mother. I too worked with Kathy at McLennan Ross. We talked about work but mostly about our families. She shared so many moments of family times and how she treasured each and every moment with you Larry and her children.
Vicki Callaghan says
My deepest condolences to Larry and family. Kathy and I worked together at MR and had a wonderful friendship. She was a great mentor as well. Kathy’s life was her family. I truly enjoyed our many conversations about our families. Thinking of you all during this difficult time. Kathy will be missed.

I’m very sorry for your great loss. Kathy was a dedicated worker and always spoke of her family and children with great pride to her co-workers at McLennan Ross. My condolences to your family.
Neil Mather says
A highlight of my day would be to check in with Kathy and ask her about her family, her dogs, and to talk about current events or the latest beef we had with the Canada Revenue Agency.
I was always kept up to date with the latest Game of Thrones episode (I laughed at her pictures of the time her family dressed up as characters for a season premiere), her most recent family get together or game night, Nick’s latest trip to Asia, Jessie’s adventures in Mosul, Kevin’s hand-crafted canoe, Larry’s new truck, or the latest photo of the new puppy.
I admired her staunch political views and her willingness to actually write letters of disapproval to various political figures and municipal government officials. She was not the type of person who sat on the sidelines and kept her opinion to herself.
Kathy was also vey proud of her family and the accomplishments of her children, which were notable.
At work, she treated people with respect and took particular pride in helping single mothers and marginalized individuals, often obtaining significant relief on their behalf.
I will miss her dearly.

My sincerest condolences to the Breton family. Working with Kathy at Mather Tax Law over the past 3+ years has been nothing but memorable. I enjoyed all the stories she would share – the love and care she expressed for her family was truly admirable. Colin Roy says
To the whole family, I’m so incredibly sorry for your loss. Kathy was such an extraordinarily beautiful soul who’s kindness (and motherly sterness) helped shape and define a younger me. To me she was always the example of how to be a genuine and good hearted human to your core. She exmplemfied how to succeed at the essentials of life, how to love and care, how to be respectful and responsible, and how to be a light to all those around you.
She will be missed beyond measure. My deepest condolences and love.
Rosanne Yurkowski says
Dear Kevin (and Breton family)
I am so profoundly sorry for your sudden and tragic loss. I remember your mum as a proud and fierce mama bear with good old fashion (un)common sense, a wicked sense of humour and a contagious laugh. Her and your dad were such a formidable parenting team. I learned many a lesson from them on how to raise children to be good citizens; when to say unequivocally No, when to smile and let it be and to always, always have time to listen when needed. I am so privileged to have known her.
Nola Bottomley says
Dearest Kathy. The Storyteller. Oh, your stories. Undeniably factual, reliably comical, and sprinkled generously with your unforgettable charm.
Most were inspired, in some way or another, by her favourite subject matter … her family. Like finding a beady eyed plush lion in her basement freezer … or the incredible lengths she had to go through to find shelter for a lost cat … or the time she was on the hunt for pi cologne, “formerly known as Prince” … or Guinny’s showdown with the Christmas Nutcrackers and his escape “like a Bandit” with a homemade spanakopita. I loved how she could nonchalantly express her love and gratitude towards Larry for, what most would consider, husband of the year qualities.
This past year, Kathy gravitated towards stories that warmed her heart. Tending to her back garden … baking Hermit cookies and couriering them special delivery to Nick … sharing in the joys of raising a mischievous puppy from the same litter as Jessie’s pup Willow … chuckling at the newest instalment of “what Kevin dressed up as” for his work video chat meeting … and finding joy on a beautiful sunny day riding a canoe with Larry and “Aurora, queen of the river Sturgeon.”
In her spare time, she delighted in finding comment worthy fabric (her favourite being that of carnivorous ocean creatures) and adorning her loved ones, friends, and even the less fortunate with colourful, fun masks.
Kathy … your story will not be forgotten. It is one of my favourites.
The one I will miss the most. A morning text saying “see you soon”.
Picard out.

My sincere condolences to you all at this very sad time.
We first met Kathy as a young 17 year old when she came to Ireland just after her dad Martin had died. There was great excitement, as Kathy was one of 7 children, 4 of her siblings were born in Ireland, but Kathy Gail and Deirdre were born in Canada we had long since heard stories of our Canadian relations from Aunty May. Kathy did come back again in her mid-late twenties, again causing great excitement.
My mum(Elsie) and Kathy’s mum were sisters and each time my mum met Kathy and Larry, she spoke about their great love for each other and how totally committed to each other they were, it was something that stayed with her always.
This news has come as a shock to us all here in Ireland. Our thoughts and love are with you all at this very sad time.
All my love,
Frankie and family

FROM ONE OF KATHY’S “CLIENTS:”
We are so sorry to learn about the loss of Kathy. Our deepest sympathies are with her family, friends, and all who worked with her. This comes at a serious shock to us.
Our heart goes out to everyone Kathy knew and all the lives she touched as well. Being good to people is a wonderful legacy to leave behind and Kathy did just that with her caring, selfless, and unconditional loving ways . The most influential people, the ones who leave behind incredible legacies, will live on in the hearts of the people they touch.
We will definitely miss her and regret that we did not get to see her at Christmas. We will be forever grateful for all the things she has done for us. With her help our case was successful and give us our life back.
