On July 28, 2020 Karen Lynn Proulx’s work here on earth was completed. She received the call with an offer that you can’t refuse, just as we all will receive some day. So it is with great sadness that the Proulx and McDonald families announce the passing of Karen Lynn Proulx at the age of 52. The offer she received comes with a great sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends that she hasn’t seen in a long time. Music, laughter and love are guaranteed.
Left to mourn Karen are: husband, Don Proulx; son, Adam Proulx; her father and mother, Clarence and Rina McDonald; brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd McDonald, Rev. Ayana James; step children: Jacqui (Jason) Proulx-Hopkins, Amy Proulx (Dan) and Brad Proulx (Esma). Also left to mourn are five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and a plethora of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Her beaming smile and larger than life personality with be truly missed. She left her mark everywhere she went, and this is overwhelmingly evident by the friends, family and coworkers that have reached out since her passing.
The family would like to thank the staff at Palliative Care, Dr Karachawala and the staff at the Cross Cancer Institute for their kind and compassionate efforts.
Due to COVID-19, Karen’s request for a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Karen’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society.
