It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Karen Louis Hoover. Karen passed away on January 14, 2021 with family close by her side and both hands held firmly. She was a true miracle, who day by day, displayed her true strength and will to survive, while battling a rare and viscous cancer called leiomyosarcoma. Her family is filled with hurt and sadness but have a sense of relief that she is no longer in pain, and happy knowing that she rests alongside her son, Matthew John Hoover.
Karen was born May 30, 1957 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and grew up with her two sisters, Nancy and Peggy, and brother, Dave.
Left to cherish and honor her life is her loving husband, Terry Hoover of 40 years, children: Jennifer, Laura and Amanda; three siblings; and eleven beautiful grandchildren.
All who knew Karen, experienced her wisdom, her advice, and endless love she had to offer. She had that contagious laugh that would energize a room and bring everyone to laughter along with her.
Due to Covid 19 restrictions, a Private Memorial Service will be held for family at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Connelly-McKinley, St. Albert Funeral Home.
A foundation has been set up in Honor of Karen’s hard-fought battle with Cancer. We welcome private donations in lieu of gifts and flowers to the “Karen Hoover Foundation”. 100% of the proceeds raised will be dedicated to Cancer research for the Cure of Leiomyosarcoma.
