Our beloved mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt and friend, Judy Lee Hamm passed away with her family by her side on January 28, 2016.
Judy will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 38 years, Wayne Hamm–semicolon– son, Jared (Brianna) Hamm–semicolon– daughter, Jodi (Kirby) Millar–semicolon– grandchildren: Finnley, Berkley, Kinsley, and Tagen–semicolon– sister, Sandra (Brian) Kennedy–semicolon– mother-in-law, Nalda Wheeler–semicolon– sister in-law, Cheryl (Bert) Desjardins–semicolon– and many other relatives and close friends.
She was predeceased by her loving parents: Edward and Beulah McKeown.
Judy was described by many as the kindest person they had ever met. She spent the majority of her life giving to others while never expecting anything in return. There is a well-known quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson that so accurately portrays Judy’s passion for life–semicolon– “To have lived well, laughed often and loved much”.
We extend a special thank you to Judy’s niece Natasha–semicolon– Thank-you “Tosh” for supporting your Aunt Judy, during her brave fight and being with her until the end.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff of The Grey Nuns Community Hospital. Your Care and Support (for Judy/Mom) will always be remembered.
A special thank you to Dr. John Clarke for those special gestures almost unheard of in our busy, modern times. Dr. Clarke, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for the house calls you made to help comfort Judy.
A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held between 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., Sunday, February 7, 2016 at The St. Albert Minor Baseball Association Clubhouse at 215 Sturgeon Rd, St. Albert, Alberta.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in Judy’s name to the Tertiary Palliative Care Unit 43 at The Grey Nuns Community Hospital, 1100 Youville Dr, Edmonton, AB, T6L 5X8.

Deae Wayne and family: I have so very many memories of times as kids on Fisher Avenue and so many hours spent in the McKeown home during my growing up years. Judy was our sweet, little blonde cousin and was dearly loved. Though our adult years have been spent far from one another, those early ties remain in the heart.
My very deepest sympathy to you all as you have had a great loss for sure.
Sincerely,
Bonnie

Dear Wayne and Family,
Judy really was a very kind person and we were very lucky to have her working in the maternity clinic. Her kindness touched the lives of everyone who came into the clinic; patients of course, but also us doctors. I miss Judy every day that I work in the clinic as it really is not the same without her.

Dear Wayne, Jody, Jared and family – I am shocked and so very saddened to hear of Judy”s passing. She was a joyful woman – my favourite neighbour when I lived on Lepine. She was a source of strength for me when my daughter, Amanda, had her accident and her kindness was never forgotten. Judy and I had many good times just sitting on the driveway watching the kids and possibly sharing a beer or two. The world has lost a beautiful person. My deepest condolences to you all.
Sincerely,
Dianne Somers (formerly Lister)

I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of your dear wife, Judy. I wanted to send a message to let you know that you still have people from Marysville thinking of you at this very sad time. I remember a lot of years ago that you not only recognized me, but came over to say hello at a fair that my husband and I had taken our kids to see in P.E.I. It must have been in the late 70”s and I thought how nice it was of you to come over and speak to my husband and I …..so now I am acknowledging you, to let you know that I am well aware of the hard battle you and Judy have been fighting. I too lost my husband to cancer in 2009. You will go through a lot of different emotions but you will make it through. Wishing you strength in the days ahead. Sincerely, Debbie (Pond/Patterson) Dunphy
P.S. The Debbie Pond from Sandyville just in case you don”t remember the fair in PEI.
