    Dear Kelly and Rene,
Jim and I are so deeply saddened about Josh”s passing and the pain your family is going through. As parents we understand how inconsolable you must feel and how immensely unbearable the pain must be. As much as we wish for it, we know our words can”t possibly change any of that. It feels like the only way we can offer any level of comfort is through the power of prayer. And so we pray that you feel embraced by the love that Josh has planted in the hearts of so many. We pray that you feel the presence of his spirit and that it brings light to your days ahead. We pray in time that you feel peace in your broken hearts. Josh was such a great friend to Mason, and we loved him for that. In my mind Heaven grew a whole lot sweeter this week.

    Dearest Kelly, Rene, + Breanna,

We are sending deep compassion and love to all of you as you experience this loss of your dear Josh”s lively presence. Dear Kelly, if you remember, my son, Jarvis, was killed in a vehicle accident while I was working at Enbridge in 2006. Our hearts go out to you all during this time, and for all the days ahead . Please know that we share this loss with you. You are never alone in this journey, no matter how you may feel at times. We truly carry this loss with you, and we carry it for you whenever you may feel it is just so heavy. At those times, you can let it go and know that someone is holding it for you during that time. We carry it with hope and love, as Josh makes his way into his new place. It can be a very challenging journey, and everything can be so suddenly different. At some point you may wonder how it will all every ”work” again. Please know that you will find your way. You will go through it, together and maybe yet, each in your own way. And you will be okay. May 1000 days pass quickly for you. May Josh surround you with his presence, his laughter and his love. Peace + Love to you, always,

Crystal (formerly Benoit) + Peter Maronik + family

Having a son of similar age who enjoys the same things Josh did brings this a little closer to home so I can”t imagine your pain. I will be praying for you and your family as you battle through this.

Jesus wept. John 11:35. The shortest verse in the Bible. Jesus wept when he heard from Mary and Martha that Lazarus died. When someone in the pages of our life is suddenly removed from our story, we are breathless as our own life and theirs flashes through our minds. We try to remember all that we know and love about Josh, and we”re flooded with emotions — and we instantly know that your world is incomprehensible and that nothing makes sense. We can only imagine the unbearable sorrow, like Mary”s, in comparison to how we imagine we might feel in the same circumstance, but it is never comparable or truly imaginable. We keep running through the story and trying to see how the rest of the story was to be, will never be, will now be changed. One thing is for sure. Josh will meet Lazarus, and Jesus, and Grandpa Harry! May you be consoled, ever so hopefully, by the knowledge of heaven and the goodness of life after earth. We continue to hold you in our thoughts and prayers.

Kelly, Rene and Breanna, We are so very sorry to hear the news of the tragic accident that took Josh’s precious life. He was always such a kind, respectful young man. Our favourite memories were of his amazing smile and his magic hands…He could score from anywhere on the ice.
