There is that silence when a great concert finishes. There are those few seconds when all
is quiet for a moment, until adoring fans realize that they can shout out for an encore, can
make enough noise to bring back the music for one or two more flashes of brilliance.
18 years of brilliance will be your legacy Gavin and your encore will be held forever in
our hearts and in our minds and in our stories.
Life seen through your lens was always pretty much a smile worthy experience.
Sharing your music, your recent good reads, your favourite podcasts and hearing your
world views gave us an insight into the complex scope of your inquisitive mind.
Some thought that stand up comedy might be in your future. Your observant, self –
effacing and brutally honest observations of your attributes and shortcomings, made for
riveting and hilarious monologues.
Listening to you speak so lovingly about your extended family and faithful friends was
disarming. Sharing your hopes and dreams for the future was heartwarming.
Our bright light, our star, our son, our grandson, our brother, our nephew, our friend, left
us all too suddenly.
Never to be forgotten, always to be felt on our shoulder, always to be held in our loving
gaze. Your name always on our lips and your smile in our smile.
