Ed Abrantes says
My Dear Brother Joe,
I am at a loss to express the sadness and love that I have for you. Time has a way of going by and taking choices that we think we have away. I didn\’t get to say to you in person, but I know you know how I feel. I found this poem that reflects my thoughts for you Joe, I know you struggled with your demons, may my love reach you now,
May your spirit soar in freedom
From the fears that gripped so tight.
May you find the peace your searched for
As you wandered, lost, in the night.
May your tortured mind be clear and calm
And your tender heart be warm.
May you have no need for strength now.
May there ne\’er be another storm.
May the music of the angels
Be the sweet sounds that you hear.
As you\’re rocked in Heaven\’s cradle
May you ne\’er shed another tear.
I\’ll wear your memory proudly,
My brother…my true friend.
May my love for you reach Heaven above
Until we meet again.
I love you Joe, you are never and never have been far from my thoughts and prayers. Say Hi to dad, I miss you both.
Love always,
Ed

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of Joe\’s family and friends for such an incredible loss. Despite not being in touch for so many, many years Joe has always held a very dear space in my heart. We knew one another in an innocent time, rollerskating, going for coffee, watching parades and talking on the phone for hours. His unique wit, charm, enthusiasm for life as well as his depth, insight and wisdom beyond his young years made a life long impression on me. It was with a heavy heart that I read of his passing, my most sincere condolences to everyone who loved him.

Placinda,
How strange is life? I\’ve thought of you over the last 16 years, never imagined that the loss of your son would bring me to re-connect. Please know how truly sorry I am, and accept sincere condolensces on behalf of my parents (Paulina and Domingos). I can\’t imagine your pain.
But please be content that the sun will shine again, soon. Take care, all the the best you and your family.
Alex.
