On December 28, 2014 Jack passed away at the age of 72 years after a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease).
He leaves to mourn his loss, his loving wife Martha–semicolon– brothers, Paul Rivest, Simon (Rita) Rivest–semicolon– sisters, Claire Allarie, Annette (Burt) Brown, Aline Garneau, Denise Rivest–semicolon– numerous nephews, nieces & friends as well as Martha’s family, the Morics. He was predeceased by his parents Lucien & Emeric Rivest–semicolon– sisters, Jeanne Lessard, Rita Dupuis, Rachelle Soprovich, Terri MacPherson–semicolon– infant brothers, Leon & Joseph Rivest–semicolon– six brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law.
Jack retired in 2001 after 30 years of providing non-destructive testing in the Oil & Gas Industry. With his brother Simon, they owned and managed Rivest Testing Inc. which serviced many Canadian, American and International projects. During his business life, he was truly appreciative and grateful of all employees and their contribution to their company.
The family thanks the many individuals who provided love and support during this time of illness. His journey would not have been possible without his gentle loving caregivers, LeeAnn, Kent, Kathie, Gegie, Zarlene, Fay–semicolon– the ALS Society and the Edmonton General 6Y Staff and we thank them for their compassionate care.
Reverend Marc Cramer will celebrate a Funeral Mass at Good Shepherd Parish, 18407 – 60 Avenue, Edmonton, on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place.
