Irene passed away quietly in her sleep Friday afternoon at the age of 97 years. She was born, raised and married in the town of Heisler, AB. This is where she raised her family of 7 children.
She will be forever loved and remembered by four daughters, Muriel, Denise (George), Adrian and Jacqueline–semicolon– two sons, Don (Lori), and Floyd (Lucy)–semicolon– extended family–semicolon– and many friends of Shepherds Care Kensington.
She was predeceased by her husband George–semicolon– her oldest daughter Maureen–semicolon– son in law Sylvan–semicolon– and youngest daughter Florence (who died at birth).
The family wishes to thank the Doctors, staff and all involved in giving Irene such kind and professional care. Although she will be dearly missed, she will be happy to be in the hands of “Her Lord”.

We were always delighted to be included and embraced by you, the Fankhanel family. Now that you have our address and phone#, we would truly love to see you enjoy the Okanagan as our guests. We have a guest room as well as an additional and comfortable single bed.
