Mia immigrated to Canada with her husband and two children in July 1952.
She was predeceased by her husband John–semicolon– sisters, Ann & Lenie–semicolon– and brothers, Jeu and Theo.
She is survived by her children, Tony (Terry), Paul (Carol), Vince (Elaine), Stella and Barbara–semicolon– and her siblings, Will and Riek in the Netherlands, and brother Gerard in Canada.
A Prayer Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 8 St. Clair Street, Devon. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 8, 2013 at the same location.

Hi Tony,
I was sad to see your mother”s obituary in the Journal yesterday. However, it would seem that she had a long life and I hope it was a happy one. It brought back many memories — of growing up in Jasper Place and of high school of course. I think the last time we saw one another was at our 20th St. Francis Xavier reunion, almost 30 years ago! Recently Monique Dumas (now Collister), Karen Gokiert (now Forster) and I held our own little reunion in Canmore. We had so much fun remembering all our friends from high school– you among them. Hope that all is well with you and that you”re left with many fond memories of your mother.
