
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Helen Hiebner passed away on June 25, 2016, in Edmonton. She created two historical societies which produced two books – “Looking Back” the history of New Sarepta and, “South Edmonton Saga”, the first local history book of a very large former farming district which is now part of the City of Edmonton. She was employed as a receptionist, secretary, and bookkeeper at various offices in Edmonton.
Helen is survived by her devoted husband Roy–semicolon– two loving daughters, Cynthia “Cindy” (Doug), and Rosaleen “Rose” (Grant)–semicolon– her two cherished grandchildren, Kyler and Karlee. She is survived by one brother, William “Bill”–semicolon– and one sister, Violet (Brian)–semicolon– many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Helen was predeceased by her parents, William “Bill” and Ida–semicolon– and two sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” and Lorna–semicolon– and niece Karen.
A Funeral Service will take place at 10:00 am, on Thursday, June 30, 2016, at Connelly- McKinley – Edmonton South Chapel, 4820 Meridian Street NW (Meridian Street can only be accessed by heading SOUTH on the Anthony Henday – Hwy 216. The exit ramp is 1 km SOUTH of the Sherwood Park Fwy.) Burial will follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
