Karen, Jeff and Kathy – I was saddened to read of your Dad’s passing. I was secretary your Dad at ATCO back in the good old days when it was still Alberta Power and through the change to ATCO. He was a great boss and mentored many, many young engineers. He was a very calming influence in the office and overlooked some tomfoolery of the young clerical staff and young e.i.t.’s. He also enjoyed a good practical joke too, as long as it didn’t go to far. We had some good laughs in the office.
It was equally saddening to read that your Mother passed away 3 months ago. Any time I was able to visit with your Mom, I always left the conversation smiling. She was a lovely lady. Just know that I am thinking of you and will always remember your parents when I think back to my working days.

Our heartfelt condolences to Kathy, Jeff and Karen. As a first cousin I knew and appreciated Glenn and Doreen and their young family in the early years but since we moved to BC we had lost touch. We last saw Glenn and Doreen at his brother’s funeral. I have passed word of their passing to the Mead, Edie and Pollard families.
We are very sorry for your loss.

Karen, Jeff and Kathy – We were saddened to hear that your father had passed away. I have very fond memories of your father. He hired me as a young engineer in 1972 and was my boss for 20 years. He was the manager of the division called Generation Engineering for Alberta Power at that time. This group was responsible for the construction and commissioning of power generation and completed numerous major power generation projects. I learned so much from your father not only in terms of engineering but also how to work as a team member.
Glenn was a man of great integrity; he treated his employees with respect which provided a family atmosphere that is unique to most work places. Those years were the best years of my career. I looked forward to going to work every day.
We were also saddened when we became aware that your mother Doreen passed away three months earlier. My wife and I had the pleasure of meeting with your mom and dad for dinner at one of their favorite restaurant in downtown Edmonton after your dad retired. Your mom was also a very special lady.
Our deepest condolences go out to your family as you mourn the loss of both your father and mother. They will be missed by all who knew them.
May God comfort you during this difficult time.
