Mom was born on September 9, 1920 in Morinville, Alberta. In 1942 she married her beloved husband Gerry and moved to the family farm in Vimy, where they raised their four children before moving to St. Albert.
Gertrude is survived by her son, Arthur (Francesca)–semicolon– daughter, Lorraine (Wayne) Rissling–semicolon– and son, Robert–semicolon– seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, as well as her sister, Dorothy Saunders.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Gerard (1988)–semicolon– and her daughter, Mavis Ann Iampen (1969).
While she is no longer with us, her memory will remain forever in our hearts.
A special thank you to the staff at Youville Home for the compassionate care given to our Mother in her final years.
Antonio Anselmo & Family says
We were saddened to learn of the passing of Gertrude Lachance. When we had the pleasure of her company, her intelligence was apparent when she spoke of the pursuit of knowledge, her views on world history, current affairs and future possibilities. But, above all, it was evident that her first priority was the wellbeing of her family. Her wide smile and internal light is now diminished but she is carried to freedom, beyond earthly ways, to eternal love, to glorious days. Bon voyage, Mrs. Lachance.
