On Sunday August 30, 2020, Gerald Nicholas Tighe of Edmonton passed away at the age of 78 years, following a long battle with kidney disease.
He leaves to remember him fondly his siblings, Pat (Maureen), Art (Marlene Sharon), Ted (Annie) and Mary (Dan Dunnigan). Many nieces and nephews will recall his warmth and enthusiasm for life.
He was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Toni Tighe.
Jerry was born in Edmonton in 1941. He received his BA from U of A and his MSW from UBC. Jerry travelled widely, meeting new acquaintances who often turned into life-long friends. He was also blessed with a strong cohort of friends over the years sharing his passions, including gardening and as an accomplished chef hosting dinner parties. His art, through pointillisms, oils, water colours and many sketches expressed his talents which he freely shared. Jerry spent much time in the indigenous world as he worked for Indian Affairs and Canada Mortgage and Housing.
