1930 – 2022
It is with deep sorrow and much love that the Family of Frank Abboud announces his passing on July 20, 2022, at the age of 92 Years.
Frank is predeceased by his wife, Amalia (2014) and his oldest son Ely (2016).
He will be dearly missed by his children; Laure (Abboud) Kowalyshyn, Rima, and Tony Abboud and his grandchildren: Jezelle, Elton, Kaylin, Nadine, Chelsey, Savannah and Kristian.
Frank is predeceased by his two sisters (Rose and Lawrence) and three brothers (Elias, Fred and Abraham).
Frank Abboud was born in Karoun, Lebanon in 1930 and learned to work at a youthful age doing various on-site jobs. Along the way, he picked up the art and skill of carpentry, and this became his profession that carried him in his latter years. He was considered a modern visionary, ahead of his time and he traveled widely before settling down.
He married Amalia in 1957 and had their first born (Ely) in 1958. In 1960, they traveled to Kuwait where they had two more children, Laure and Rima and in 1966 they travelled to Edmonton, Canada where they had their last child, Tony.
Frank became a Mason in the early 1960’s, proudly honoring his brotherhood and conducted his services helping others in need.
Frank Abboud built his first home in 1967 and it was the first “flat roof” house in the community of Allendale.
In 1975, Frank built his second home in Millwoods and this became his family home until his passing.
Frank enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed working with wood and has built many items in his life. Frank loved sharing meals with his family and friends.
He retired and became a litterateur writer and created the “Al Noor” (the Light) magazine written in Arabic and translated in English. He was a good provider, protector and loving father, grandfather, and a solid friend, and he will be dearly missed by all.
The Family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to:
