
Evelyn Braben passed away peacefully at the age of 93 years after a long illness.
She leaves loving memories with her family, step-sons, David (Torri) of Calgary, John (Linda) of St. Albert; grandchildren, Christina, Jenna, Jake, Cassandra, and Justin; one sister, Shirley Caldwell of Edmonton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Joseph; step-son, Dan; brothers, Otto, Leo, Robert, Ralph, Edwin, and William Klaudt; and sisters, Laurentina Paulson and Mildred Grismer.
She was born in Scottsburgh, Saskatchewan where she received her schooling, before moving to Swift Current. Evelyn and Joe settled on an acreage outside Rocky Mountain House before retiring to Edmonton. Evelyn was a long-serving member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies’ Auxilliary and found great enjoyment at the Jasper Place Branch, where she served in many capacities including President.
The family would like to extend their thanks to all the medical staff of Unit 7W Misericordia Hospital and Unit 9Y Edmonton General Hospital during her hospital stays.
A Memorial Service will be held in Evelyn’s honour in Edmonton at the Jasper Place Legion, 10427 – 174 Street, Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
