In loving memory of our Papa and Grand-Père, we announce the passing of Eugène C. Trottier on December 29, 2013 at the age of 91 years, at the Good Samaritan Dr. Gerald Zetter Care Centre in Edmonton.
Eugène is survived by his two daughters, Paulette (Volker) and Lisette (Ken)–semicolon– daughter-in-law, Cheryl (Marc)–semicolon– seven granddaughters whom he adored, Danyelle, Nicolette, Chantal, Christiane, Madeleine, Melanie and Emilie–semicolon– as well as his sister-in-law, Yvette. He was predeceased by his wife, Gabrielle (1998)–semicolon– son, Eugène (1999)–semicolon– infant daughter, Bernadette (1962)–semicolon– parents, Constance and Eugène–semicolon– sisters, Madeleine and Marie–semicolon– and brother, Maurice.
Born in Saint-Denis-d’Anjou, France on July 30, 1922, Eugène immigrated to Edmonton in 1952. He devoted his professional and personal life working for the francophone community. Eugène was proud to be employed by the French Canadian Association of Alberta (ACFA) and Assurances Vie Desjardins. He will be remembered for his charm as well as his unconditional dedication to family and his work.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Église Saint-Thomas d’Aquin, 8410 – 89 Street, Edmonton. Interment will follow on Saturday January 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Albert Catholic Cemetery, 7 St. Vital Avenue, St. Albert.
