It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Ettie Rose Dean on December 27, 2011 at the Youville Home in St. Albert Alberta at the age of 94 years. She was born in Rosedale, AB on September 11, 1917.

At a young age she helped raise her siblings Elton, John, Allan and Hazel. With her husband, Stan they settled in Hay River in 1946 where Rose played an active role in the community. They spent many years in Hay River and started a family business. Together they retired in Salmon Arm BC.

In recent years Rose moved to Edmonton and St. Albert, AB to be near family. She was a kind, generous woman, loved by many, and maintained a wide circle of friends. After living a long, fulfilled life, Rose passed peacefully.

She was pre-deceased by husband, Stanley Frederick Dean–semicolon– son, David Stanley Dean–semicolon– brother, John and sister, Hazel.

She is survived by siblings: Elton and Allan–semicolon– children: Earl (Cheryl), Robert (Ernestine), Leroy, and Patricia (Brian)–semicolon– 9 grandchildren: Bert (Bernadette), Erland, Heidi (Alejandro), Darrell (Lorna), Donna (Lance), Dana (Cara), Keltie (Trent), Brendan and Paula–semicolon– 11 great-grandchildren: Ashley (Jeff), Leslie (Ben), Cody (Emmeline), Megan (Sean), Galen (Ashley), Logan, Taylor, Kieran, Rory, Emerson, Kingsley–semicolon– 10 great-great grandchildren: Sean, Trinity, Lilly, Breanne, Tenesha, Alanna, Audrey, Delaine, Penny and Landon Stanley.

The family would like to express gratitude to the many friends and staff of Piccadilly Terrace in Salmon Arm BC, Riverbend Retirement and Devonshire in Edmonton, AB and the utmost to the Youville home in St. Albert, AB.

A Memorial Service will take place where the family will lay Rose to rest alongside her husband Stan, in Salmon Arm BC, in early summer.

We are saddened by the loss of Rose. She was a great family friend for many years in both Hay River and Salmon Arm and was one of the reasons that we retired to Salmon Arm. We used to visit her when we came out to BC on vacation and on occasion dropped Mom (Val Unger) off to visit with Rose for a few days.

We are saddened by the news of your mom\’s passing. We both loved her very much. It was a pleasure to spend an afternoon visiting and even better if a game of bridge could be arranged. Such a Lady!
