I send my sincere condolences to the family of Erwin. I remember Erwin very well from the time he worked for Cana on the construction of several projects at the Edmonton Power Genesee Power Plant in the 1980’s. In 1983 he had just finished the construction of the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton and following this he was made superintendent of the Cana field construction force at Genesee. We were extremely fortunate to have such a man on the project as his organizational ability and construction knowledge were outstanding. Always a gentleman Erwin had a presence that was respected by all who came into contact with him. It was not only a pleasure to have worked with Erwin but also I was fortunate to have gotten to know the man and his truly extraordinary and fascinating history before he came to Canada. Rest in peace Erwin you are not forgotten.

Our deepest condolences to Erwin’s family. Craig and I met Erwin through Jim Hole and accompanied him to many Eskimo football games. We shared many laughs and dinners together. Erwin always had the most interesting stories to tell. Craig got expert advice on numerous construction projects from Erwin. He was always a gentleman and a pleasure to be with. We will miss his laugh and company. We are privileged to have known Erwin and he will be terribly missed.

To Erwin’s family I offer my condolences, I was lucky enough to get to know Erwin through a few projects we had worked together on, I had respect for Erwin for his construction knowledge but even more as a person. He treated me with respect and always had time to talk about business or life in general and we shared many hours in great discussions. In my eyes he was a great man, that had lived a life of giving to his family, his friends, his company and the Edmonton area for all the great projects he was involved in over the years. Erwin will be missed by all the people that were lucky enough to know and work with him over the years. R.I.P. my friend.
