On September 4, 2011, Elsie Sonheim passed away at the age of 99 years.
Elsie brought happiness to all around her. She persevered in times of struggle, and gave selflessly in times of need. Her life was long. She was born in the year of the first air mail flight, and left us in an age of instant communication. She ensured Jack always had hot coffee at hand, with the sandwich crusts cut, for the summer road trips. Elsie always remained loyal and committed to her partner, and now leaves this world to join him, forever with peace and love.
A Prayer Service will be held at 8:00 pm on Friday, September 16, at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 10011 – 114 Street, Edmonton. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Saturday, September 17, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 12810 – 111 Avenue, Edmonton, with an interment of the urn to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
