Just one month shy of her 97th birthday, having lived a full life of good health, Beth quietly left us.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Matt, in 2010. She was born to August and Martha Schwebius (siblings Mary, Martha, Charlie, Hilda, Wally, and Ethel), grew up in Saskatchewan, and spent many years there, a few in Toronto, and the past 50 plus years in Edmonton. She taught school in Saskatchewan as a young woman, and was an active volunteer throughout her life, particularly in the Catholic Church. She and Matt were very close to their families. They spent their retirement years partly in their Mesa home, but largely visiting and keeping up with the extended Schwebius and Hertz families. Beth was a beloved Aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She was a special part of the Nick Hertz family and will be greatly missed at all of our birthday and holiday celebrations. She was very grateful for the incredible support and friendship of Nick and the children and grandchildren, particularly after Matt passed away. The family would like to thank her caregivers at Laurier House and Friendship Care Services who made her part of their family and gave her such loving care.
Prayers will be at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 10011 – 114 Street, Edmonton. Reverend Paul Kavanagh will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 9830 – 148 Street, Edmonton.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be gratefully accepted by the Marian Centre, 10528 – 98 Street NW, Edmonton, AB, T5H 2N4 or the Alberta Cancer Foundation, 710, 10123 – 99 Street, Edmonton, AB, T5J 3H1.

May the Hertz family find comfort from the words of our dear loving heavenly father, at Revelation 21:3,4 there he promises us that he will do away with all pain, suffering, sickness and even death will be nor more. My thoughts are with you today. Pat
