Elinor Margaret Marklund (nee Pulsford) passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2016 in St. Albert, Alberta. She was born to Lewis Gerald Pulsford and Lucy Kathleen Pidgeon on June 24, 1929 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
Elinor grew up in Prince Albert and spent summers at Emma Lake and Waskesiu Lake. She told many stories of the “shack tent” and cabin days at Waskesiu. Mom attended King George School and graduated Grade 12 from Prince Albert Collegiate Institute in 1947.
Elinor married Vern Marklund on March 27, 1954 and they moved to Lloydminster, Alberta in 1957 where Dad owned and operated the Texaco bulk plant and service station in Lloydminster for a number of years. Dad passed away in 2008 and Mom continued to live in their house until August 2012, when she moved into the Hearthstone Place Senior’s Residence in Lloydminster. Mom loved the Hearthstone and enjoyed visiting with many long-time friends. In March 2014, she moved to the River Ridge Seniors Community in St. Albert to be closer to family.
Mom liked the simple things in life. Mom and Dad danced with the Lloydminster Square Dance Club, where they met many life-long friends. Mom did petit point for many years and her pictures still hang on the walls of the homes of many family members. Mom was also an enthusiastic knitter and was still knitting right up to her passing. We kept her stocked with wool and now have a lifetime supply of dish clothes, scarves and afghans!

Donna Bruce says
Doug, Ron, and families, I am so sad to hear about your mom. She was a beautiful lady both outside and in and I enjoyed the visits I would get to sneak in when I would bring mum to come visit with her. She was a great friend of moms and she will be deeply missed. Thinking of you all in this difficult time and sending big hugs your way.
Dennis and Janet Koroluk says

She will be dearly missed by all of us.
Know that we are always here for all of you.
She truly was wonderful thoughtful person.
