After a short but valiant struggle with multiple myeloma, Scott passed away on May 23, 2020.
Left to mourn are his beloved Diane; son, Justin (mother, Laurie); parents, Marilyn and Charlie Schroder; siblings, Geoffrey and his children, Ava, Anika, and Ashton, Pamela (Harry) Kipnes, and Penny (Chad) Wall and their children, Amanda, Emily, and Kelsey. Also left to mourn are Diane’s family; son, Eric; daughter, Krista (Rob) and their children, Kyle and Ryan. Scott will also be missed by his many other relatives and friends.
Scott worked as a financial advisor for the Principal Group, as a computer analysist at the University of Alberta, and for the past 27 years with Altec Ltd., a construction firm specializing in housing and commercial renovation. He and his partner John Sissons were well liked by their clients, judging by the number of times their clients requested additional work. Scott was an avid environmentalist and loved refinishing, recycling, and reusing. He took great pride in building three cabins on his recreational property with 99 % reused materials.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

My deepest sympathies to your families. I will always remember Scott from bowling . He always had a smile on his face ,loved the outing with his parents and John, threw the ball the fastest and was accurate and would be the first to high five the other team! He will be missed!!

Our condolences to all of Scott’s family. We had the distinct pleasure of knowing Scott for many years and working with him on several occasions personally and through our interior design business. Scott was great fun to be around and always a wise word was delivered. Our association with Charlie and Marilyn many years ago is most likely what led to meeting Scott and John and seeing their quality workmanship they were proud of.
Our thoughts are with Diane, Justin, Marilyn ,Charlie , Geoffrey and all others close to Scott that will miss him dearly.

I was very sad to hear of Scott’s passing. He had quite the sense of humour and always had a smile on his face! He will be missed at our Wednesday night mixed bowling league. Next time I hear thunder, I’ll know Scott threw a strike!
