It is with profound sadness that the family of Dr Robert Murdoch Laurie announce his passing on August 20, 2018, at the age of 45 years.
He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife, Erin (nee Leahy)–semicolon– parents, Malcolm and Jemima Laurie–semicolon– brother, Scott (Sara) Laurie–semicolon– niece, Fiona Laurie–semicolon– nephew, Thomas Laurie–semicolon– as well as all of the Leahy family, numerous friends, extended family in Scotland, and his patients.
Rob was born in Glasgow, Scotland. He immigrated with his family at the age of 5 to Fort McMurray, Alberta. While growing up in Fort McMurray, he was an avid soccer player and continued to play soccer throughout his life. Rob graduated from the University of Alberta and then attended Western State Chiropractic College in Portland Oregon. He then began to practice first in Calgary, Alberta. He then moved home to Fort McMurray and opened Alba Chiropractic–semicolon– later practicing with MacNeill Chiropractic. His greatest joy was helping people overcome injuries, and he always said his best patients were the ones that got well and didn’t have to come see him!
Rob was an avid mountain biker, snowboarder, scuba diver, and world traveler. He and his wife Erin had many amazing adventures around the globe.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12: 00 p.m., on Friday, September 21, 2018, at St. Edmund Catholic Church, 13120-116 Street NW, Edmonton, AB.
