With wonderful memories and hearts full of love, the family announces the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Doris Field, on Saturday, November 2, 2019. She passed away peacefully, just 16 days short of her 98th birthday, in the presence of her two daughters, Dorrie and Marilyn.
She is survived by her sons-in-law, Bill Wolodko and Bruce Jones; her grandson, Mike (Michelle) Jones and granddaughter, Kate (Grant Mombourquette) and her great-grandchildren: Clark, Henry, and Myra Mombourquette. Mum is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Simon and her sisters, Vera and Ivy.
After having taught at Entwistle School from 1951 to 1982, Doris lived in St. Albert near her family. For the past five years she resided at Citadel Mews West.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Connelly-McKinley, St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert, Alberta. A Private family interment will take place at the Rochford Bridge Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations would be appreciated to Doris’s two special charities: Alberta SPCA 17904 – 118 Avenue NW Edmonton, AB, T5S 2W3 or the Hope Mission 9908 – 106 Avenue NW Edmonton, AB, T5H 0N6. Both charities also accept donations online.
The family is sincerely grateful to the staff at the Citadel for their care, support and compassion. Special thanks is extended to Dr. E. Mori-Torres for her excellent care of mum and the family.
