It is with heavy hearts that the Wyspianski family announces the passing of Dennis Wyspianski, on July 22, 2022. Dennis will be missed dearly by his wife Beryl; daughters: Kerri (Karl), Lindsey (Derek); and his beloved grandchildren: Hendrix, Lyra, Cedar and Dawson.
He is survived by his brother, Rick (Cathy); Uncles: Lloyd, and Victor; Aunts: Betty, Stella, Mary;
sisters-in-law: Joan (Brian), Janice (John), Shelley (Gerry); and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Myrtle; and his brothers: Benny, and Terry.
Dennis was born June 28, 1950, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He spent many happy years there growing up in a large loving family and made many lifelong friends with whom he still kept in touch. He played hockey and baseball, was an Altar boy and belonged to the Air Cadets. He loved all types of music and spent many happy years camping and fishing.
Dennis and Beryl met in 1966, and were married in Winnipeg in 1971. They enjoyed almost 51 years of marriage. Shortly after they married, they moved to Edmonton and later to St. Albert, Alberta. He attended Nait, studying machinist.
For several years he worked for Esso and spent his spare time deejaying. He loved to ski, spending time in the mountains any chance he got.
Later moving on to work for the City of St. Albert, where he stayed until he retired. He enjoyed his yard, chatting with the neighbors, and fixing things at home and for his daughters’ homes. He loved the Edmonton Elks and the Oilers, rarely missing a game. He also liked to travel, especially by car, to different destinations.
He loved a good joke and interacting with everyone he met, playing wingman for his cousin David and matchmaker for his friends and his daughters’ friends.
Dennis brought joy or laughter to any situation and was the go-to man for any advice, from dating, to life in general, to fixing things. He had a way with words and sharing his skills. Those who had the opportunity to be touched by his words will not have a void from him being gone, but a legacy he filled to be carried and shared on.
The family would like to thank the first responders who attended on the final day and all the family, friends, and neighbors who have been so supportive.
A final memorial will be held in Winnipeg, Manitoba, later in the fall.
Any donations would be much appreciated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta: Suite 144, 5241 Calgary Trail NW Edmonton, AB, T6H 5G8
