Last Saturday, Krystyna woke up in the arms of her Heavenly Father. Although we grieve her loss deeply, we live in the hope of Christ knowing that we will see her again one day.
Born in Sopot, Poland, Krystyna immigrated to Edmonton in 1958. She was our family’s heart and soul and her absence will be deeply felt. Krystyna is survived by her sister Halina (Wieslaw), her daughters Vonia (Joshua), and Diana (Kirsten) and her beloved grandchildren, Isaiah, Krystyna, Isabella, Isaac and Samuel. She was predeceased by her parents Marianna and Jan.
Krystyna will be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit. Her greatest passion was caring for her family and others. She was an exceptionally compassionate person with an unmatched tenacity. She’ll be remembered for her strength and positivity, her love of learning, her beautiful smile and infectious laugh, her love for both the news and “the bachelor”, her kindness and willingness to listen, her love of reading, and her steadfast faith. She was a bright light, and we take strength from our many memories. Her examples of sacrifice, dedication to family, and generosity are instilled in all of us.
Her family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Kensington Village for their care and support during the last two years of Christine’s life.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions a private funeral and interment will be held. The mass will be livestreamed at youtube.com/MBKP-Edmonton on Monday, January 18 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Krystyna’s name to CMHA.ca or shepherdscare.org.
