It is with great sadness that the family of MWO (Ret) Charles H.T. Mercer, C.D. announce his sudden passing, in his home, on 3 March 2020 at the age of 55 years.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Marion (nee Cormier); daughter, Brittany (Lukas); two sons, Ryan (Kyra Lyn nee Turpin) and Cyle; mother, Audrey Mercer (nee Dawe); two brothers, Cory (Ann nee Hiscock) and Craig (Anne Marie nee Hayes); niece, Christa (Jack); nephews, Christopher, Justin and Paul; grandnephew, Clint; as well as extended family and many dear friends.
Charles was predeceased by his father, Charles Hugh; and grandnephew, Jax.
Charlie enjoyed fishing, motorcycles, leather working, taking walks with the family dogs, going back east and, most of all, being a son, husband and father. He served in the Canadian Military, as a physicians assistant, for 24 years, before continuing his career as a physicians assistant for De Beers Mine then Diavik Diamond Mines. Charlie always had a good story to share, teased the ones he loved, and would give the shirt off his back to anyone.
Visitation for family and friends to take place on Friday, 6 March 2020 from 1500 – 2100 hrs at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 10011 114 St NW, Edmonton.
Funeral Mass to take place on Saturday 7 March 2020 at 11:00AM at St. Charles.
