Heartfelt sympathy to the entire Bachand family. You will be missed! My husband Bob, who also passed away this year on Jan 11) often had coffee together at McDonalds and I often joined them. Charlie was a warm, kind, caring and extremely intelligent man and we valued his friendship, Now he and Hilda are together forever! Sincerely, Linda Weiss

Lorenz Hermary and Mary Jane Borg.

Our condolences to Shelley, Amanda and their families and their extended families. It is especially difficult during this time of physical distancing but please know that we hold you close in our hearts.

I (Lorenz), remember vividly the first time I met Charlie. Hildegard was a very special and treasured aunt and one weekend she came back from Edmonton with this young fellow named Charlie and another young man. Apparently things were getting serious and it was time to bring him around to meet all of the relatives. As I remember it was particularly warm spring day and the adults spent the afternoon around the kitchen table drinking coffee, telling stories and getting to know each other. I mostly remember egg salad sandwiches, shortbread cookies and resenting this man who was taking up so much of my special aunt’s attention. As it happens, over the years it turned out that he was a very special fellow in his own right and I came to look forward to seeing him whenever the families got together.

We are so sorry for your loss and the loss we all feel. Take care and may we get together soon.

My condolences and sympathy to Shelly, Amanda and families on the loss of their father and grandfather. I had the pleasure of working with Charlie in the Department of Forestry, Lands and Wildlife. He was exceptionally dedicated, hardworking and knowledgeable and he was also friendly and helpful. He was a consistent source of good advice and made major contributions to the development of policies in Public Land Management over many years.
His loss will be mourned by a host of co workers who will remember him fondly, and with great respect.

Shelly and Amanda, you have a great dad to be proud of. He will remain a pillar of the parishes family life. Never did he delay by giving if his time to come and sign a cheque which I greatly appreciated. He always shared his love about you guys and you families. I know the names of all in my heart because that is how he spoke of you. I loved when he came into the office with (Sophia) his oxygen tank. She was full of wisdom. Your dad and grandpa will always be remembered with joy. Your dad and mom have been in my prayers as well as your family, and I am sure Charlie is smiling with your mom, and Cailyn, beaming light of love right now for eachother and for you, their precious children and mom and dad.
    Peace and all good things!

My condolences to Charlie’s family & friends. He was my mom’s cousin (Aline Bachand) and I worked with him on our family reunion meetings. Always cheerful, positive and contributed a lot. I didn’t know him well, but always felt welcomed when he was at a meeting. Time goes so fast, and I just happened to see his obituary online today, so again, my sympathy to all his family and friends.
