Chad Landon Evans
1989 – 2023
It is with very heavy hearts that we say farewell to Chad, a dedicated father, loving and caring son, brother, uncle, grandson and friend, on August 13, 2023.
He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his two beautiful young daughters: Brook-Lyn, 12, Taylor, 8; father, Lyle; mother, Denise; sisters: Barb (Chris) Zager, Heather (Russ) Adams, and Tanis Smith; brother, Dylan Smith; and grandmother Florence Day; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Chad was predeceased by his brother, Derek Evans in 2017 and grandfather Derek Day in 1991.
Chad earned his Red Seal Journeyman Certificate as a machinist on July 10, 2015 and worked for Stellar Machining and Manufacturing Inc. for the past 11 years as a shop foreman. It’s been said he was hard-working, trustworthy, intelligent, thoughtful, willing to teach others and a good friend that they will miss seeing every day.
Chad loved taking his girls fishing and camping, staying at campgrounds or on his friends’ acreages. He loved the space for the girls to run around and play with friends, experience ziplines and riding dune buggies. In winter time, they’d go skating or tobogganing and ice fishing.
He was a huge Oilers fan, going to games whenever he could and taking his girls. When he was younger and his dad would have tickets for the Oilers, he would go with his sister or brother. Growing up, he played hockey, soccer and baseball. Snowboarding and skateboarding were other sports he enjoyed, but hockey was always his favourite.
Chad had a large group of true, loyal friends that he cared deeply for, and he would always drop everything to help out when they were in need.
Chad will be deeply missed by many. There will be a Memorial Service held at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Connelly-McKinley Edmonton South, 4820 Meridian Street NW, Edmonton. If you join for the service, the family asked that you please wear either Oilers gear or green, as that was his favourite colour.
In lieu of flowers, we have a gofund me account set up for his young girls that will be in trust for them. Please click here for the gofundme link.
Arrangements entrusted to Connelly-McKinley Edmonton South Funeral Home.

Chad was a huge help this summer at our acreage clearing trees and burning wood, he smiled and loved every minute of what was seemingly endless hard work. He brought a smile that lit the darkest night and we will forever be grateful that we had the pleasure of getting to know him, laughing with him, singing and dancing with him! We made so many great memories that we will cherish forever. He is deeply missed 💚💔 our thoughts are with the family and everyone grieving this incredible loss.

Celeste Ramage says
Chad is one of the most beautiful souls i have ever known. He often talked so fondly about his family, how great his parents were, often in between stories of mischief he got into when he was young. He drove me through the old neighborhood across 34st fromJackson heights, showed me his old house and some of the other houses in the neighborhood. He talked about Denise’s beautiful gardens, and how much he loved woodworking with Lyle. He was so proud of where he came from. He was so good, such an amazing father, partner, friend, he was great in every way you can be and it radiated out of him. As much as there were storms he got so much joy from the family he came from, and from all the friends and everyone that loved him like i did. He was a good man. I loved him deeply, as did everyone that knew him for more than a moment. He was so easy to fall in love with. I am so sorry for this immense loss. We are all grieving with you and send so much love your way 💚
