
Bert passed away on October 20, 2012 at the age of 80.
Bert will be dearly missed by his wife, Kathy–semicolon– his son, Gilbert Van Nes–semicolon– his daughter, Esther Van Nes, and her husband, Blayne Thachuk, and their children, Shae and Roan–semicolon– Kathy’s sons, Ron Ung and Jeff (Kim) Ung and their children, Rachel, Braeden and Erin–semicolon– brothers, Rudy Van Nes and Louis (Connie) Van Nes–semicolon– sisters, Alida (John) Bosch and Maria (Leo) Van Vliet–semicolon– and numerous other family and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife, Catherina (nee Van Keulen) and wife, Angelina (nee Kando).
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Connelly-McKinley Sherwood Park-Mill Woods Funeral Home, 4820 Meridian St., Edmonton (Meridian Street can only be accessed heading SOUTH on Hwy 216 (Anthony Henday) – the access is 1 km south of the Sherwood Park Freeway on Hwy 216.). A Private Graveside Service will be held at Glenwood Memorial Gardens on Monday, November 5, 2012.
In memory of Bert, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

Meeting, associating, and working for Bert was one of the very, very memorable occasions in my life.
He was a wonderful friend who challenged many of my \”Sacred Cows\” of perception.
