Bernard Arthur Arnold passed away peacefully in Edmonton on Nov. 15, 2022.
This good, loyal man has joined his beloved wife Darlene of 44 years in heaven. He is lovingly missed by daughters: Laura and Tricia; son-in-law Dan; and granddaughter Ava. His siblings: Joanne (Syl), Denny (Annette), Terry (Bob) and Debbie (deceased) will greatly miss him; as will Darlene’s siblings Don and Josephine (deceased), Del (Kathy), Judy (Neil), Rod (Elaine), Karen (deceased) and Peggy (Stan). Bernie also leaves many nieces and nephews and their kids, who he so enjoyed seeing and hearing about their adventures.
He had high and unwavering standards that he held himself to first and foremost, and helped out many who needed a hand. After working for Canadian National Railway in Saskatchewan, his formal service to Albertans was as a longstanding and respected law enforcement officer and leader with Alberta Fish and Wildlife. He was also a dedicated volunteer, including most recently with the Knights of Columbus. In both pursuits, colleagues and co-volunteers became trusted and valued friends to the end.
Thank you, Bernie, for being the son, husband, dad, grandpa, sibling, relative, colleague and friend you were. Your legacy lives on.
His funeral mass is at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Holy Family Parish, 75 Poirier Avenue, St. Albert.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bernie’s memory to Pilgrim’s Hospice Society, 9808 148 St NW Edmonton, Alberta T5N 3E8 https://pilgrimshospice.com/get-involved/make-a-donation/
