It is with great sadness, the Tooth family announces the passing of Benjamin Charles Tooth on Friday May 6, 2016.
Ben will be remembered and deeply missed by his family, son’s, Colin (Gail), Rob (Shelley), Steve–semicolon– grandson, Shawn (Amanda)–semicolon– granddaughter’s, Heidi (Rob) and Sarah, great granddaughter, Ella–semicolon– and great grandson Logan–semicolon– sister Mildred Edwards, and many other relatives and friends. Ben was predeceased by his wife Vivian in 2002.
Ben was born in Climax, Saskatchewan, on October 1, 1939. His career in construction brought him and his family to St. Albert in 1968, where the family became very active in the community, particularly in the sporting scene. Ben coached his sons for many years and later played a major part in the development of Legion Memorial Ball Park in St. Albert, and the formation of the Norwest Midget AAA Baseball league. Ben made many friends in St. Albert, through his involvement in coaching, playing slow-pitch and curling through the years. His construction career saw him lead the builds of several major projects, including the unique and spectacular, St. Albert Place. Throughout his construction career, he garnered the respect of many industry leaders building lasting friendships with the many individuals he worked with through the years.
The family wishes to give special thanks to the tremendous staff at Citadel Village and the Sturgeon Hospital who made Dad’s recent months and years more comfortable.
A service to celebrate Ben’s life will be held at St. Albert Evangelical Lutheran Church, 11 Glenview Crescent, St. Albert, AB on Friday May 13, 2016, at 10:30 AM. Light luncheon will follow, with “open mic” tributes to further celebrate Ben.
