Arturo Romero was born in Dasol and raised in Ilio-Ilio, Pangasinan, Philippines. He joined the military at a young age. He served in the Vietnam War for a number of years under the U.S. army as a medic. Sponsored by his daughter Merlyn and her husband Gerry, he migrated to Canada with his wife Florentina and twin daughters Virginia & Gemma in 1982. Like most new immigrants, he worked multiple jobs to support his family. His greatest strength was his love of God, which he mirrored in his everyday life. He worked hard for his family and made sacrifices so that all his children will do well. He is described by many as a man with few words, gentle, patient, kind yet strong, forgiving, resilient man. He transforms a room when he walks in. It is without a doubt that he is well loved by all.
He is survived by his children and grandchildren: · Yolanda Padilla (Reynaldo, Vino, Leonard & Rowland) · Merlyn Cajindos (Gerilynn & Gerald) · Felicidad Romero & partner Adel · Florante Romero & wife Carmelita (James & Arnold) · Virginia Romero (Jacob) · Gemma Romero-Yu & husband Simon (Rayanna, Joshua & Ceres) · Miraflor Romero & husband Matthew (Montgomery & Memphis) And 16 great grandchildren And siblings: · Eduardo Romero · Norma Dimatulac · Helen Demuth · Ricarte Romero
