It is with great sadness that the family of Anna Moderwell announces her passing at the age of 88.
She is survived by her sister, Nora (Jose) of Oaxaca, Mexico–semicolon– nieces and nephews, Ken (Judy) Purches, Cathy (Franz) Bodmer. Gordon (Laurie) Purches, Jim Purches and Shelley Anne Purches–semicolon– numerous relatives and friends.
A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at St. Andrew’s Parish, 12810 – 111 Avenue, Edmonton. Reverend Archie MacKenzie will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Andrew’s Parish at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2013. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Winnifred Stewart Association for the Mentally Handicapped, 11130 – 131 Street, Edmonton, AB, T5M 1C1.

Just to let you that you are all in my thoughts & prayers at this time of Cousin Anna\’s passing. I have great memories of Anna, Sister Mary, and even Jessie coming to mom & dad\’s (Mary & Craig Shaw) for many visits. We always had a great time with them.

In recent years, my mother and I tried frequently to visit Anna, but she always insisted that she wanted to visit us instead! Sadly, she was unable to do so.
Anna was always such a kind person. When her cousin\’s youngest child was born, Anna drove both grandmothers from Edmonton to Peace River to visit with the family and see the new baby. I came too, so Anna wouldn\’t have to make the trip back home alone. Anna wouldn\’t let me pay for anything!
My mother\’s sister and Anna were also good friends and even holidayed together several times..
Our condolences to all!! Anna will be greatly missed!!!!
