It is with profound sadness that the family of Anand Abbyvyas Boodhoo announces his passing on Thursday, October 21, 2021. He will be lovingly missed by his dearest son, Jesiah Boodhoo; his brother Anil Boodhoo (Teira); his dearest niece, Anjelika Boodhoo and his loving mom and dad Iris and Sam Boodhoo; as well as other relatives and friends in Canada, USA, United Kingdom and Guyana. Anand was predeceased by his grandparents Clara and Goberdhan Harrylall of Stanleytown, Guyana and John and Mangaldai Boodhoo of Sheet Anchor, Guyana and by a number of uncles and aunts on both sides of the family.
Anand was born in Montreal on March 20, 1975 and has been a wonderful and beautiful child. In all his life from his early childhood to the time of his departure, he was always ready to give up something of his own for the comfort and happiness of others. He was a man with no ill feelings for anyone. As a youth, he made the best efforts at his studies and worked as a financial planner at ATB and the Royal Bank, a financial advisor and partner in an Investment Firm. He served as the Chief Compliance Officer of his own Exempt Market Dealership guiding many Owners and Investors in their financial planning activities.
But his true callings were in activities using his hands. Breaking and building structures with sophisticated tools and equipment were his true enjoyment and motivation. In the last six months he spent time working with his dearest friend Sal Rao assisting him with building a true vision and processes for Sal’s company. He loved and cared for his mom who always prepared his meals and cared for him. After dinner he would always want to help her in the kitchen chores. He always made jokes of the most serious situation and focused purely on comforting his mom. He was present in her life for the most part on a daily basis and she may have to learn that when you love someone, there comes a time when you have to let them go.
A religious Service celebrating Anand’s Life will be held on Friday October 29. 2021 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 10011 114 St NW Edmonton, Alberta.
In Lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Anand Boodhoo’s name to Heart and Stroke, Alberta and Northwest Territories. Visit https://www.heartandstroke.ca or call 1-888-473-4636.

Our deepest condolences to the Boodhoo family. Anand was my brothers (Robert Kisteleki) best friend and our Summerlea neighbour. As kids the two of them took a lot of joy in teasing me.
The memories are abundant and even though I have not seen him in many years, the memories will always be there.
