Amelia died peacefully on August 14, 2013.
Mom’s legacy is her family and the friends she left behind.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Doug (Bernadette), Brian (Brenda), Linda, Barry, Barbara (Kirby), Bill (Janet)–semicolon– 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Amelia was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Tannis in 2005.
Daughter of Marcella and Hugh Flynn, she was born and raised in St. Albert. She married Bill Montemurro in 1947 and moved to Mayerthorpe, where they raised their children.
When she returned to St. Albert after her husband’s death in 1982, she gave up her nickname and once again became “Amelia” and “Auntie Amy”.
It is a parent’s special pride to watch the love and dedication that her children and now her grandchildren have for their own children. That is Mom’s precious gift to us. She is with us in them. “…seek not so much to be loved, as to love”. Mom loved all of us and is loved. She will be missed.
Prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 20th, 2013 at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21st, 2013 at St. Albert Catholic Church, 7 St. Vital Avenue, St. Albert.
Donations in memory of Amelia may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of one’s choice.
