On December 6, 2019, Alexina passed away peacefully at the age of 82.
She will be forever in the hearts of her family: sister Julia Alexander; children, Joe (Lana) Ground, Ben (June) Ground, Janet Tailfeathers (Ivan Ladouceur), Charles Ground ( Barb Morin), Camille Hodgson (Leon Littlelight); daughter-in-law Alitta Tait; grandchildren: Jody Ground, Joel Ground, Shane Morin, Angel Morin, January Ground, Aaron Ground, Mackenzie Ground, Cleve Tailfeathers, Kaylee Tailfeathers, Julio Tailfeathers, Andre Ladouceur, Chantelle Weaselfat, Charlaine (Jared) Tallman, Scott Ground, Christopher Ground, Jensi Morin, Teddi Morin, Alissa Hodgson, Darien Soosay, Jonah Strongman (Tanesha Swampy), and Taylor Strongman; 32 great-grandchildren; numerous relatives and friends.
Alexina was predeceased by her parents, Margaret “Maggie/Coc” and Pierre “Tata” Alexander; son Gerald Cody Hodgson; first husband William “Billy” Ground; second husband Cecil Gerald Hodgson; third husband Homer Healy; and her fur baby Tigger “the Boss” (cat).
A Wake will begin at 4:00 p.m. and Prayers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, Enoch. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the same location at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2019.
