Regino Ocampo passed away peacefully at the age of 86 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mercedes; children, Lyn (Willy) dela Cruz, Germie (Ara), Grace; grandchildren, Wendell, Wilbur, Marina, Ngel, Ghip; brother, Longino; sisters, Anastacia, Esperanza; as well as numerous other relatives and friends both in Canada and the Philippines.
Regino was a school head and school teacher for over thirty years in the Philippines. He also served as a lay minister in the Catholic Church as well as a Grand Knight 4th degree of the Knights of Columbus of St. Augustine Council No. 4206 Phils. Regino will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband and father who valued family and community above all else.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Basilica, 10044 – 113 Street, Edmonton at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2011 with visitation at 9:00 a.m.
Due to the generosity Regino showed to many in the Philippines, his body will be returned home for interment.
The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Misericordia Hospital and the Cross Cancer Institute for their compassion and care.
