It is with tremendous sadness that the family of Jack Baxandall announces his passing at the age of 84 years after a lengthy battle with prostate cancer. Jack passed away peacefully with family by his side.
Left to mourn Jack’s passing are his son Norman (Nicole), much loved granddaughter Nadia, special sister in-law Carol (Gary) Hutnan, and numerous family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Eleanor in June of this year, father Parkinson Baxandall, mother Maria Bolton, sisters Violet Galloway and Shirley Tobin, and brothers Donald and Gordon Baxandall.
Jack led a full and varied life that started out on a farm in the Westlock area. The rigors of his early life on the farm demanded he be a self starter and that ability served him well in his later life. He was a devoted husband and left a lengthy career as an aircraft maintenance engineer to help his wife realize her dream of opening a dress fabric shop in St. Albert. He managed the store’s day to day operations and was an active member of the St. Albert Chamber of Commerce. Jack had many hobbies including curling, golfing and travelling, but his true passions were gardening and fishing. He loved the art of conversation and spent many happy hours at his neighborhood Tim Hortons chatting with friends.
