On August 18, 2011 Suzanne Elizabeth Abele died as she lived – responsibly carrying out the ordinary tasks of life in an extraordinary way. Her departure from this life was sudden, and the end of her earthly existence is deeply felt by her family, friends, colleagues and nature itself. She leaves behind her parents, Randall and Roseanne; her sisters, Catherine and Alison and her brothers, Jonathan (Nikki) and Christian (Lara). She also leaves her grandfather, Elmar Abele and nieces and nephews, Joshua, Autumn, Jonah and Brady. In addition, she is fondly remembered by her fellow researchers and students at the University of Alberta and her choral colleagues with whom she made wonderful music over the 27 years of her short life.
Thanks to all of you for the way you enriched her life. The family especially thanks her four co-workers: Jason, Jessica, Mackenzie and Teia, who stayed with her and tried to do whatever they could to keep her alive and comfort her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at St. Thomas More Catholic Parish, 210 Haddow Close, Edmonton. Her friends from the choral music community will honor her in song prior to the Mass at 10:30 a.m.
Friends who so wish may make memorial donations directly to the Marian Centre, 10528 – 98 Street, Edmonton, AB, T5H 2N4.
