On August 15th, a sunny Alberta morning, Danny, with dreams of her home for the last 20 years,Half Moon Lake, passed away peacefully in her sleep. Danny has waited patiently for 27 years, and now rejoins her beloved husband, Jon. Having known each other since they were children, their love flourished in England during the war while she served with the British Women\'s Royal Naval Service and he served with the Royal Montreal Regiment. As a war bride Danny, settled in Sherwood Park, Alberta and together with Jon built \"Blue Goose House\". Danny is loved by her seven children, Jonathan, Jane, Adam, Mungo, Justin, Pollyanna and Quincey, their spouses and 21 grandchildren. Danny is missed by many dear friends, both two legged and four legged. Throughout her life she looked after countless horses, a cow, dogs, cats, peacocks and a menagerie of other birds and animals. Her favourite past times were rock collecting and gardening. Yet her knitting projects were works of art that were proudly worn by all children and grandchildren.
We want to thank Madeline and Ed who loved Danny and brightened her days.
Our sincere appreciation to Strathcona County Home Care for giving Danny independence and dignity and to Lamont Hospital for giving her comfort and compassion for her last month.
A Celebration of her life will be held Thursday, August 25 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at the University of Alberta Faculty Club.
