On June 19, 2011, our beloved Paul passed away at the age of 54 years. He will be lovingly remembered by many as a man that was genuine in his kind thoughts and words. Paul had a knack for remembering events that were important to others, and sharing them in unexpected ways.
He will be dearly missed by his siblings: Stuart (Diana), Kate Petersen (Steen), James (Kathleen), Gordon (Jan) and Dave (Sharon); his nieces and nephews: Tania, Skye, Lon, Meghan, Craig, Neil, William, Quentin, Rupert, Annika, Franny and Soren. His cousins Wendy Houle and Valerie Sullivan, who are like sisters, and numerous other relatives and friends, will mourn his loss. He was predeceased in 2006 by his mother, Rosina (nee Hepfner) and his father, David in 2009.
Paul was born in Edmonton, Alberta, but grew up in St. Albert, where he lived most of his life until his recent move to Spruce Grove. He took great pride in his work with Evergreen Catholic Schools, keeping the school clean was never a chore to him, but a chance to connect with staff and students at the end of their busy days; at the beginning of his.
Paul was most in his element traveling with his family to visit relatives and friends at family gatherings around Western Canada. Paul had a passion for old cars, old westerns, old friends, camping, golf, fishing and Sunday brunch. He will be remembered for his quiet, giving nature, and a conscientious demeanor to which we all may hope to aspire.
Reverend Andrzej Stendzina, OMI will celebrate a Memorial Service at St. Albert Catholic Church, 7 St. Vital Avenue, St. Albert on Friday, June 24, at 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made on Paul’s behalf to the Heart and Stroke Foundation – www.heartandstroke.ca or the Canadian Diabetes Association – www.diabetes.ca.
