It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of Eleanor Baxandall announces her passing at the age of 83 years after a brief illness with pancreatic cancer. Eleanor passed away peacefully with family by her side.
Left to celebrate Eleanor\'s life are her husband of 53 years, John \"Jack\"; son Norman (Nicole), much cherished granddaughter Nadia; brothers, Bernard (Audrey) Wiese, Charles (Eileen) Wiese, and Ronald Wiese; sisters Phyllis (Jack) Downing, and Carol (Gary) Hutnan; aunts, Lucy Gilchrist and Edith Wilson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is predeceased by her parents Oscar and Olive Wiese, brother and sister in-law Kenneth and Marjorie Wiese, sister in-law Agnes (Ronald) Wiese, and brother in-law Raymond (Carol) Boucher.
As the oldest of seven children, Eleanor learned the art of homemaking at an early age and will always be remembered for her sewing, cooking, and baking by everyone who knew her. She was generous with her time and was always there to help family and friends alike. In 1972, Eleanor\'s love of sewing and dressmaking led to the realization of her dream of opening a dress fabric store in St. Albert with her husband Jack. For the next 25 years, she shared her knowledge and enthusiasm for home sewing and dressmaking, and took much delight in helping many brides-to-be select fabrics and lace for their wedding gowns.
